Processus Contra Templarios

Vatican is selling 799 copies of the Processus Contra Templarios. at 5,900 euros ($8,377) each.

"Processus Contra Templarios" (Latin for "Trial against the Templars") was presented at the Vatican on Thursday Oct. 25, 2007. It's not the Holy Grail, but for fans of "The Da Vinci Code" and its tantalizing story line about the Knights Templar, it could be the next best thing. Ignored for centuries and found in the Vatican secret archives in 2001, a parchment about the early 14th-century heresy trial of the ancient Christian order is the basis of a limited edition volume being published with a $8,377 price tag.

Order of the Knights Templar, whose full name was Militia Salomonica Templi ("Fellow-Soldiers of the Temple of Solomon") was a powerful and secretive medieval order originally formed to protect Christian pilgrims on their way to Jerusalem. The order was dissolved following charges of heresy in 1314.
The document chronicles the accusations of heresy against the Knights, the Templars' defense and the Pope's absolution of the order. Indeed, the Knights received the papal absolution from all charges of heresy.
